Television

So of course Tristan is waaaaaay to young to watch Television, he's got another couple years before that happens. If Michael and I try to watch TV when Tristan is in the room he does anything possible to look at it. This is him straining as hard as he could to watch it while eating last night. If I lay him on the floor underneath it, he'll roll his eyes back in his head to try to look at it. The most annoying thing though, is that last night he started crying and when he craned his head to look at the TV he immediately stopped. So I suppose that's why parents give in! Tristan is still super grouchy. We're getting some medication tonight, hopefully that helps. When he's happy it's been really fun watching him try to figure things out. He's at the point where if he's laying down and you put a toy away from him but in his eyeline he studies it for a long time and tries to figure out how he can get there to pick it up. He hasn't quite got the idea of rolling on his side to use his other hand to grab it. He's also figured out how to put his bottle in his mouth. If I hold it in front of him he will grab it with both hands and shove it in his mouth. Of course as soon as it's in his mouth he drops the bottle, because the concept of having to hold it there hasn't quite reached his brain yet! He also constantly grabs his pacifier out of his mouth and then cries because it's not there. He hasn't put together that he is grabbing something that was in his mouth!

Now you understand the attraction of Mister Rogers during the "arsenic hour" of 5-6 p.m. We all loved the neighborhood - for all sorts of reasons!!!

Oh Goodness me, all this brings back memories...Mr. Rogers was a favorite at our house too. Won't be long until Tristan will be sitting in his high chair and throwing stuff on the floor! That's always fun......

Hi Guys!!
Never fear!! As soon as he starts moving and discovering the world he will not give T.V. a second thought. Emily is just over two now and if we are lucky she will watch a cartoon for 5 minutes. But she has to be exhausted or totally sick to even do that!! :) Notice I say lucky!! You already know what just five minutes to make dinner can mean to a worn out mom!!
