Moving Day
Yay, we moved back to the regular peds floor this evening. There was some miscommunication (as usual!) in the moving time so it took forever, but we are finally here. We are back in our own room- we'll see how long that lasts. It wouldn't be that awful to have a roommate, but that would mean only one of us can sleep here. Thankfully that hasn't happened yet, because I need all the support I can get. Tristan had an ok day today, he was super grouchy after every feed- screaming his head off. It's difficult because in the PICU they try to control everything, so they want to dictate how much he eats, when he eats, how he burps, etc. As a mom, I know what he needs so he spent the whole day grouchy. When we finally moved to the Peds Floor it's back to me dictating how Tristan feeds, etc! That helped immensely, he hasn't really cried at all. It does turn out that even though the g-tube is leaking (the on call surgeon doesn't believe us) Tristan really needs it. Right now he is unable to burp on his own so we are able to just vent the tube and listen to all the air bubbles pop out. It's actually funny because as soon as he starts crying during a feeding we vent the tube and he stops-instant gratification. Hopefully he will be able to burp on his own again in the near future-it's a question we have for the surgeons. Not sure when we are leaving, he's still under observation. Hopefully things continues to look up.

I know some adults who would give up their Tums for a gtube -
It's late Sunday evening and just saw this and read what (Barb or Joy?) wrote -- I'd be one of those adults, I think. Michael, do you suppose my Dad would have liked one?
