Progress

Tristan made a lot of progress yesterday. He got his oxygen out, his head IV removed, and started feeding. Yay! I'm excited to finally be able to feed him. He's super excited too! I just want to get him back on his regular feeding schedule where he sleeps through the night, whereas they wake him up in the middle of the night to feed him. He was supposed to move back to the Pediatric floor yesterday, but there wasn't room. It's on the docket for today, but since nothing seems to go right here at UCLA we have a problem. The G-Tube that Michael and I agreed to let them put in as a precaution is leaking. So his formula basically comes out of a hole in his stomach after he eats it. Sorry, gross visual! Obviously this is really annoying since it's something they convinced us to do and now we're regretting it. We'll see how they solve the problem today and whether we get to move or not. Other than that he's good and awake and playing.

Good grief! You guys are going to be experts on what to do - and what not to do - with babies in any kind of ICU!!!

Hang in there.

Michael & Krista, this is Emily, one of the NICU nurses from TMMC. Kelly told me today about Tristan's site and I just looked through his photos and the things you wrote. What a beautiful boy he is growing into! Those lips! They were like that from the start! You guys have been through a lot and I am sorry to hear that you are having a little set back, but keep your heads up and remember that we are thinking of you and always wish the best for your family! Much Love, Emily
