2 Month Birthday!

We got a little bit of bad news today. Tristan has a condition that is not totally uncommon among preemies of brittle bones. This occurs because they can't give him the same amount of calcium that he would be receiving in the womb, much of which comes in the third trimester that he missed. It's not a long term condition, and he should grow out of it in 6 months or so, hopefully before he starts being able to move around on his own. The other issue is that he has a condition in his eye, but they don't know whether it's from infection or something else. He's getting some antibiotics, but if that doesn't help there is a possibility of surgery. Otherwise, he's doing pretty well. He drank from the bottle again yesterday, then had some issues today with the whole breathing and eating at the same time thing. I guess he can't be perfect every day.

God is good and Tristan is going to be perfectly fine! We'll keep praying for him. He is getting so big!

When I saw this picture I became a little teary. It's definitely a special one. Tristan is soooo cute. I find myself talking to pictures of my grandson all of the time. I can't wait until I come down again.

Hi Michael and Krista,
Tristan looks so good. Hang in there. The set backs are so hard. I am so sorry. The first year is even harder. But then as time goes on he will get better and better and you will have less and less doctor's appointments. I remember the eating thing like it was yesterday. It is the last hurdle before he can come home. Who knew that breathing and eating at the same time could be so hard? :-)Emily struggled with that too. Then before you know it he will be two!! Hang in there. He has been through so much and even though it may not seem like it sometimes he has come sooooo far and will be just fine!!
