Here's post #2 for the night.
So our bad news is that we got a phone call on Friday morning that the FBI has yet to approve our fingerprints. That meant they couldn't give us the baby on Friday. We were still able to go down and meet him, but now we have to wait for them to figure things out. They are in contact with the FBI trying to figure out what's going on, so they are hopeful that by Monday or Tuesday we will be able to take the baby home. We are extremely sad- especially after meeting him, because he is an amazing kid and super adorable! After thinking about the, "Why is this happening God" question for awhile I've decided I have my answer. Not two weeks after being in the hospital Tristan is extremely ill again. It's one of those touch and go, breathing treatment, humidifier, tons of coughing and congestion type illnesses. So I think God just knew we couldn't handle a new baby adjusting in addition to Tristan being so sick. I actually slept in his bed with him last night it was so bad- we will see how tonight goes.
Brian was deployed on Friday so Libby came up for the weekend. I decided after trying to watch JJ and Tristan by myself for 5 minutes that we should probably call and tell the foster agency we can't handle two kids! Granted we were outside right next to the street- but still, the two of them are a little active to say the least. We stopped by a new churro place in L.A.- yum. Just look at Tristan's face- that's the outline of the mug after he drank every drop of the dipping chocolate!
Despite illness we try to make the most of daytime since that's when Tristan isn't so congested. Today was time to get Tristan's pumpkin.
Lost in a the hay maze.
A little girl gave him a quarter to get some gum- apparently he is that charming : )
The newly carved pumpkin (drawing by dad, carving by mom)- he wanted a scary face.

I am so sorry that Tristan is sick -- just remember God is always there. I know you know that, but sometimes it helps when other people tell you. I have been thinking all weekend about 'my kids' in So. Calif. Cool pumpkin, Tristan. A face with a chocolate circle - it must have been good! Love to all.
Ups and downs for sure! Gosh, we surely hope Tristan gets better fast and your new addition comes to your house fast, too.
Love, Mom and the Dad
Wow - thanks for the updates Krista. I hope Tristan starts feeling better soon and you get the foster child when the time is right. We're always thinking about you guys. Good luck.
