So, so sorry but we have been BUSY and I mean literally have barely had time to look at the computer busy. Plus if you really need to complain you can call Michael. He has plenty of photos of his weekend with Tristan on his phone that he keeps forgetting to upload and write about!
So it started after my lat post. We woke up that night to Tristan coughing and asking for a breathing treatment. Unfortunately at that point he was so tired and too far down the not breathing road that when we tried our at home treatments (i.e. inhaler, steam bath, just sitting upright) he just lost it. Couldn't stop crying and screaming and then started shaking so we took him to UCLA. They gave him the magic breathing treatment and waited a couple hours, he got worse, they gave it again and then waited, he got better, he went home. And at this point we are so used to overnights in the ER we forget to tell people it happened or when people in WA were asking me how Tristan was I said, "Great! Wait, he was in the hospital last night!"
I was flying out on Saturday morning to WA so I had to leave the hospital at 5:30am and walk to the bus station to go to LAX! Such is life. I got to relax up there at mom's house and spend time with the Defolo's and their new baby, Mason!
I flew back to L.A. continued our normal schedule- school, pt, volunteering, work, etc! By luck I ended up having a free Saturday so we jammed our house full of junk and priced everything for a yard sale! It was thankfully a success. After that we raced to San Diego to celebrate Libby's bday and say goodbye to Brian before he leaves on deployment for 6 months. Tristan was so sweet to him when we were leaving and I know I was trying not to ball my eyes out! Sunday morning we had to come back up to L.A. to prepare for a foster training, our home walkthrough and a lovely dinner with my bosses/friends!
Monday we also got to go have a meeting with the outreach pastor at our church. He is an absolutely amazing, inspiring person- love him. And the purpose of the meeting was just to help us feel supported and let us know he and the church are behind our family during this adoption. It's a really great feeling since a lot of the time at our big church we feel lost in the shuffle. We feel so blessed that he is as inspired by us as we are by him.
After that we had a foster training and then were off to see Stacey in a play (really fun by the way)! Sometimes in the midst of being so busy you can't breathe it's nice to have a dinner or a play to make you forget about all the things going on in life.
Today was our home walkthrough so we will be officially foster/adopt certified tomorrow! Can't believe we are finally there.
And of course I have a crazy story to tell you, but I will save it for an upcoming post (look for that tomorrow : )

Whew!!! Life on a run for you. I can't believe you had a garage sale in the middle of all that! We need to have one of those very badly.
Thanks for the update.
Love, Mom and the Dad - who gets home tonight! Hooray!
I have something for you to do -- get a glass of wine, sit down, put your feet up, and take some very long deep breaths! I get tired just reading about all you are doing!! FGA
Congratulations on making it through the certification process! Good luck with what's ahead.
