Back in Time...

Let's pretend it's 2 weeks ago.  Krista is visiting Washington, Tristan and I are having a fun boy's weekend, and I'm making a timely post of our adventure.  Work with me...

Kent and Jack came to Culver City to join Tristan and I at Indiecade, which was an independent video games festival.  It started off well with a game of CulverLand on the sidewalk - see a car of the same color as the next space, move forward.  Motorcycles were wild, obviously.

We continued to the fire station, otherwise known as the Family Friendly Area.  However, when we got there, it was just numerous stations with computer games setup.  I don't think they considered 3-year olds in their definition of family...

All was not lost.  I knew there were sock puppets to be made somewhere, and Kent's eagle eyes spotted the representative from the game that directed us back across Culver City.  We took a couple flyers and headed out.  Along the way, Jack and Tristan took a break, checked out their papers, then started marching along the sidewalk yelling "I have the power to read!"

Sock puppets at last!  I had started to get nervous we were going to bring Kent and Jack down for nothing, but there it was.  It was an actual game, too.  Tristan and Jack made puppets, then became employees for Socks Inc. which involved tromping around the city and taking videos of their socks doing cool stuff.

To end the day, we just hung out in the park for awhile with the loot from the Indiecade gift bags (basically frisbees and Pop Chips).  And then we went and had pizza.  After having cookies and milk for a snack earlier.  Boy's weekend, remember? :)

Great pictures. Sounds like a terrific boys' day, both in terms of games and food. One thing that really stands out for us in the northland is how everyone is in sunshine, wearing shorts and T-shirts. Way to rub it in without even trying :-)
Love from Grandpa Tony
