Eating

So here's Tristan "eating" his first solid food. As you can see it didn't go well. I tried to follow the doctors advice and feed him at the times she suggested, obviously that didn't work out. From now on I will follow my own advice and feed him twice a day when he is happy. He woke up late so he just wanted to scarf down his bottle. I am supposed to feed him rice cereal first and then do the bottle about 30 minutes later. I tried one bite and he screamed. So I put the bottle in and he ate the whole 4 ounces without stopping to burp. I tried to take it out a few times to do the spoon and he looked like he does in the picture. Pretty sure I couldn't have picked a worse feed ever to start solids on! We'll see how he does tomorrow.

Thanks so much for these stories! We think he's highly intelligent, since Tristan obviously knows what he likes and doesn't like to eat. We see Iron Chef in his future! Your instincts sound like a more successful approach, we can't wait to hear how it turns out.

Relating your experiences are really bringing back the memories. Mostly the fun ones - the not-so-fun ones quickly slip into dim memories. I'll never forget when Val first had ham - baby food style, but that's a story for another time.
You're doing good!!

I love looking at your smiling face as Tristan "enjoys" this new experience! He will learn to chow down.

After reading mom's comment I am concluding you are smiling while your son is obviosuly an unhappy camper. pretty classic.
