Bracelets for Mom

How tall am I?

Climbing where I shouldn't be.
READING TO DADDY (I love you stinky face)
I don't know when it happened but at some point Michael and I became adults. We look at each other all the time and say, huh are you sure we aren't just playing house? I mean seriously sometimes I laugh out loud when I say things like, my husband is away on a business trip running a conference, haha! In the past I spent a lot of time being lonely or bored while staying at home, but suddenly things have come together. Michael is out of town for over a week and before I would have been counting the days ( I still am, but in a different way!) This time all I can think about is all the stuff we have to do. Working, volunteering, preschool, swim lessons, playdates, paperwork for the new school, etc, etc. When did I become the busy stay at home mom? I think the thing that really just made me realize I really was "an involved mom" was when I got a phone call from the church hoping I would help teach at VBS instead of volunteering in the craft room (i'm pretty sure they are just desperate for suckers like me)! I laughed out loud, when did I become a mom teaching VBS?
As mentioned- this week has already been busy and it's only Tuesday. On Monday Tristan and I toured the new preschool. He LOVED it! They have a very large outdoor play area, which was his dream. They have toys, jungle gyms, balls, painting, bubbles, whatever a little kid could want. He got to see his new classroom and meet the teachers. He didn't want to leave, but only if I was going to stay too! I keep trying to remind him that he has to go to that school by himself just like he does Step by Step, he's not a big fan of that. We'll see how it goes in September : ) Our family also got asked to be in another fundraising video that films this week. Unfortunately Michael is away so they rejected just mom and Tristan! Tomorrow we are going to breakfast, just because. We do have a literal countdown on the calendar that we can cross of each day. We really tried to prepare Tristan for this trip be talking about it for weeks in advance, showing him on the map where dad was going, making the calendar, and hopefully skyping with dad while he's away. So far (Day 1) we're doing good. He only told me once that he wanted dad to come back and it was just that- telling me because he missed Dad. He didn't scream or cry it at me. I'm sure by Day 4 we'll be in that mode! And I for sure won't be complaining about it since I always remind myself what my sis-in-law has to deal with on monthly basis with a Navy hubby.
