Guitars, Crabs, and Strawberries

The crab Tristan and I made together!

Sorry for the pantsless guitaring! For some reason I always take photos of T without pants on while playing musical instruments. He couldn't get his shorts back on after using the bathroom and it was late, so we just left them off. I spent $9.95 on that guitar and it's the best $9.95 ever spent! He pretty much carries it with him everywhere and loves to play Beatles songs on it. I think we've created a Beatles monster, it's all we're allowed to listen to in the car. The second we got in the car this morning- put on the Beatles now!

It's strawberry season in So Cal- finally! Whenever I get strawberries in the box Tristan devours them. If I don't take them away he would eat the whole basket in one sitting. He cried today because I wouldn't let him have all of them. At least it's fruit that he loves, not something else! Sadly he doesn't know yet the indescribable taste of strawberries from my mom's garden. For now he has to settle for Capay Organics. We also got fava beans, which I'm really excited about because I've never cooked with them before! I had a delusion today that I could fill my days experimenting with recipes and convincing Tristan that it would be fun to do that. He does enjoy cooking with me, but for only about 5 minutes : ) Ahhh, I'll get to do that one day.

So it's allergy season and we have ridiculously high pollen counts in Los Angeles. It's shocking, but I'm pretty sure Tristan has allergies. He has all the symptoms eye rubbing (at least a hundred times a day), stuffy nose, and allergy "shiners". I called the doctor and she suggested trying Zyrtec for a month and then calling back to see how that's going. So yesterday I started a 3yr old on Zyrtec- not real thrilled about that! He doesn't seem to miserable, but the eye rubbing is enough to drive anyone insane. Hopefully it works out and we don't have to see an allergist. I think we may wait on that even if it doesn't work, because that may be a little traumatizing.

Hey Tristan, two of my favorites-crab and strawberries. We'll have a crab feed and strawberry shortcake! (I'm assuming you like crab if you made one!) Cute. Sorry about the allergy thing-that's really annoying. Loved the duet! Rosalee

Obviously the next Beatles song to learn is Strawberry Fields Forever. Thanks for the great videos, I agree with Rick on all counts. Grandpa Tony

My favorite pictures are the ones of the guitar duet. What joy on Tristan's face. Michael doesn't look too shabby either.

Hopefully some strawberries will be ripe when you come up in June.

Love, Mom S.
