Tide Pools

We took Tristan to some tide pools for the first time ever with Allison and Joshua. It's always fun doing something new with Tristan and of course he loved being able to stick his hands in the water and touch things. The tide wasn't a negative tide nor were we there at the lowest tide of the day, so we didn't see everything we could have but we saw enough. Tristan got to hold a snail and a hermit crab and touch some sea anemone and different sea plants. Allison also managed to find one orange starfish, so that was nice. Shortly after Tristan touching the anemone he fell in the tide pool because he was so excited to touch things and we weren't prepared!

After wandering around for awhile looking at everything we headed back and Tristan face planted on the wood bridge. That was interesting- of course he was screaming his head off and his nose, both lips, chin and knee were scraped up. He's never seen blood so while we were trying to stop his lips from bleeding he stopped crying to try and figure out what the heck all that red stuff was. Of course his lip had skin hanging off of it which he quickly bit off and said, "Oh, what did Tristan eat?" Kind of gross, but Allison's favorite quote of the week. Coming in second was when he told her he had poop in his pants while in line for pictures with Mickey.

The sad news of the weekend is that Tristan has a small cold again. Fingers crossed, but so far it has just been a normal cold- runny nose/sore throat/cough. We have a normal cold routine that Michael and I can predict with Tristan- first sign of cold- lots of whining and not sleeping through the night, then a day or two of whining and runny nose, then a day of random coughing, lastly a day of forcing himself to cough all day because he thinks that's what he needs to do. We're on the last stage right now- hopefully he only does the coughing for a day, because we would really like to get to school tomorrow. This did mean that we missed the dance a thon on Saturday- but thanks for the money we did raise and sorry there aren't any photos!

We don't have any relatives in town this week, but we are going to be interviewed for a documentary about Step by Step and see the speech therapist. So I'm looking forward to both of those things. Then on Saturday we are back on the visitor train and will be seeing Grandpa Tony and Grandma Joy, plus some family friends.
