So, as all mom's know, toddlers throw tantrums. I thought I'd bless all of you with a Tristan tantrum which seems to happen about 5 times a day. I know his are probably pretty average and don't happen too often and usually not in public, but they are still annoying! And to be clear- I wasn't just videotaping and ignoring the fact that he was upset! He was upset because he wanted to put the Mickey Mouse hat on himself and it wasn't working out. I offered to help more than once and he said no. He's very independent these days, which is actually what leads to most of the tantrums. He has to open the door, close the door, get in his own car seat, etc, etc! Shortly after I stopped the video he snapped the elastic against his cheek, which led to a huge breakdown- understandably. After hugging and singing for awhile I raised his head up off my chest and and saw that huge welt! Yikes, no wonder he was screaming. It's hard to tell in the photo, but who knew a little piece of elastic could be so mean? Now I'm afraid he's going to be afraid of the Mickey Hat.

Just came home from working at school, and this video made me laugh out loud! What a way to brighten my late afternoon! I do love the independent streak.
