Day 9

Today was a busy morning. They were starting to get worried about Tristan's apnea that I referred to yesterday and about him getting worn out, so they decided to put the ventilator back in. This is not uncommon, it just means his lungs got tired working so much on their own. Since having the line put back in, he's been great, though, and he's been breathing just fine. They did take some new samples from his lungs and blood to make sure no new infection has arisen, but the results won't be back for a few days. They've been trying to start giving him some milk, but he hasn't been digesting any of it, so they're going to hold off for now and wait until the results from the infection tests come back, then revisit some solutions to that. The eating issues aren't abnormal, either, as his stomach isn't really designed to be digesting yet, they're just trying to get him started. He was moving around again tonight, so we felt good seeing him - definitely more energy since having the ventilator back in.
