Tristan is in a five week program through our school district where he goes to school a few hours 5 days a week.
I let him pick the topic, The Wonderful World of Reptiles, Fish and Amphibians!
I wanted him to do Spanish, but he insisted upon Reptiles.
It's been a great prep for Kindergarten, but a little more of a time commitment than I originally thought about.
I love keeping him busy, but I just ask for one morning a week where I don't have everyone dressed and ready to leave by 8:30am.
I guess that's what we're in for in the fall so it's a prep for me too!
At the beginning of the class they did small drawings, like snakes and turtles.
And they also write every day which is a great challenge for Tristan.
He doesn't enjoy writing and downright refuses for me so it's nice to have a class where he just has to do it.
One of the other interesting challenges for him has been the fact that the class is K-3rd.
Obviously he's one of the youngest so I'm glad to see that he is coping wonderfully with that.
Below is his Octopus drawing, partially colored.
As the class has gone on he is doing more complicated drawing, which I love.
That's his Hammerhead Shark from the other day!
This is today's drawing a Barionyx, which apparently is an underwater dinosaur that likes to catch fish.
He thought it was funny to put blue toenail polish on the dinosaur!
Next week is our last week and he is so excited for his "summer vacation" before starting Kindergarten!
He's beyond thrilled about the prospect of Kindergarten as well.
And because I can't resist, my precious newly born niece, Little Miss Mia Lou!
I get to meet her in a couple weeks!

Congratulations to your sister!

Great drawings by Tristan - an artist in the making. May be of ancient reptiles, but an artist nonetheless! What a cute baby, also.
