Scary Drum Face!

So the cold is still here, but I will say while knocking on wood that I think it should be gone tomorrow or the next day. It's down to just a runny nose and infrequent cough- mostly clearing out gunk. We barely survived it, but we did. While stuck at home all last week we planted another flower. It said to make sure and not put more than 5 seeds in the dirt. Well, first off the seeds are miniscule and second they put about 100 in the package. So I couldn't really grab it before Tristan dumped all of them into the dirt. I tried to dig them out, but we'll see if our flowers bloom : )
Tristan was in for a wake up call today because the TV was off. No more movies all day every day since we aren't sick anymore. He asked to watch Cars and Toy Story about 18 times today, but I managed to hold firm and limit TV viewing to one Sesame Street. That is our normal daily goal. We got back to playing with toys, taking walks, and doing crafts/activities. I have a decent preschool craft website I visit that also has educational activities. So since we finally got our printer cartridges refilled I printed out a few shape and letter tracing pages to see how he would respond to that. That was in line with my decision that we also needed to get back to doing some fun educational things- like reading and writing. I've been in a mommy rut lately : ) He actually enjoyed the tracing for about 10 minutes and even managed to come close to some of the dotted lines.
During play time we visited San Diego about 5 times. Since San Diego was located on my bed I was willing to visit as much as T wanted. I ended up spending a good 30 minutes of the morning in bed reading a book- man, I love San Diego! We purchased him a couple new books with birthday money and one is the Jamie Lee Curtis book- Big Words for Little People. That's his new fave and he loves to tell me everything that is DISGUSTING- so next time you see him ask about big words. Or as the book says, "And next time a grown-up thinks you don't have sense, show them with Big Words your INTELLIGENCE!" It's a fun book!
Tristan was supposed to transition to preschool last week but since he was out all week sick that will happen this week. So by next week he will be in the preschool class and no more Wednesday school- sad for mom : ( My hormones were not really cooperating last week and they went up to 19. M and I just want this to be over, but like the cold it seems to be dragging on. Prayers that they will go down again this week or I think further treatment will be needed from the doctor.
And I will close with the fact that Tristan just yelled from his bed, "Come in here Daddy, I have something really icky, really gross." And what did M come out with? A big booger on a kleenex- good night : )

Thanks for the great post! Lots of fun info. The booger story made me laugh outloud again. I'm always praying for the hormones - hopefully soon they will be at 0.

Krista - you are a marvel of a mom. How lucky Tristan is to have a mom who has all of those activities up her sleeve!!!
