In Laws and Cousins

We've been back this week from San Diego and getting back into our routine. Monday we got the little boys together and they actually played by themselves for maybe an hour while we had adult conversation- amazing! Tristan is moving up a class in school to be in the 24-36 month class. He's been transitioning, but next week he starts in the class regularly. I'm not sure he understands his fave teacher won't be there with him. We shall see how that goes. We did get invited to be interviewed for the school documentary- they must have liked our family photo! We will be doing a 45 minute on camera interview for that on Wednesday- should be interesting.

Right now we are working on potty training- it is not going great to say the least. Not sure how it goes for other people, but Tristan sure as heck doesn't care if he has underwear on, is naked or whatever he's just going to pee. If prompted he will sometimes go on the toilet, but it takes a lot of effort to ask 40 times a day if he needs to use the bathroom. That's not really being potty trained if he doesn't let us know himself. We had a minor breakthrough today- he didn't go on the floor (although Michael had a narrow miss with #2- just picture him carrying Tristan upside down to the bathroom!) I read that kids do a better job learning with someone of the same sex so Michael took him to the bathroom often today and he was always willing to go with him. Me on the other hand, not so much. And considering I'm the one home with him all the time we have a long road ahead. I'm hoping that tomorrow maybe he will let us know once without us asking.

I agree with Joy. This would have been funny! Of course, the grandparents can laugh. Potty training does take lots of patience.

Oh, good heavens -- is that an approved method of supporting your child? FGA
