We visited the beach on Friday and the waves were out of control. It's a little hard to tell from the photo, but they were huge and crashing really close to shore. So close they hit our towels and then throughout the day continued to wash all the people around us out as well. I heard down the beach further they weren't allowing swimming or surfing. We met up with Libby for lunch over the weekend (Brian was working). Tristan was very excited about seeing her. Although when she arrived the first thing he asked was, where's Uncle Brian? When we were leaving he did say, I love you JJ to Libby's tummy. And we didn't prompt him to do that either!
Yesterday we had a late afternoon visit to the pool at Kai's house. That was fun- Tristan was getting braver in the water, jumping in a lot. He even accidentally went under once or twice. Kai on the other had was extremely fearless and kept trying to make Emma leave him alone! Today was another adventure- my car broke down on a freeway exit. It's never broken down before so that wasn't fun- but with 130,000 miles and 7 years under it's belt it was bound to happen. Tristan kept screaming at me to go and I kept having to explain that the car wouldn't go. I can't blame him since it was lunch time, then nap time, and it was hot in the car. When the tow truck arrived the driver carried Tristan in his car seat to the truck which led to a complete meltdown. I guess Tristan thought that he was taking him away! He did enjoy the ride in the tow truck, but now is thoroughly confused why we don't have mommy's car.
P.S. Contrary to my own belief there are nice people in L.A. A guy about my age pulled over to push my car off the road and two more people asked if I need help after that. Although I wasn't very happy with the other 99% of cars that kept honking at me- hello, flashers people, go around!

Oh my, I am so sorry about the breakdown -- I had trouble coming out of Seattle at rush hour once and had the same experience with the kind vs the not so - only I didn't have a two year old with me. Hope all is well! Rosalee
