Bronchoscopy

(Photos above taken by Tristan from his hospital bed!)

Tristan's bronchoscopy went fine.  The anesthesiologist just loves him (we had her last time too) and she gave him a surgical hat to wear on the way to the OR.  He thought that was great, especially since he was already getting giggly from the drugs.  She also came and visited us later and said that they put one of the TV monitors in front of him so he could watch himself fall asleep on camera.  I guess he thought that was pretty fun to poke himself everywhere and watch it on camera.  The procedure was over in about 30 minutes.  They didn't find anything new so that's good.  It just means in the future he may be in the hospital again when he has croup.  I guess his airway is just a little narrow below his vocal cords which he will grow out of eventually.  He has not been happy all day about being in the hospital.  It's been kind of a nightmare- a lot of screaming and crying by him.  And he refused to take a nap so he was exhausted tonight which meant 10 minutes of SCREAMING before zonking out to daddy singing, "do, do" as he calls it.  Also known as humming "Oh Danny Boy".  We are very excited to finally experience the new private rooms.  There are two beds, a private bathroom/shower and we don't have to worry about bugging anyone (which we definitely would have).  We should be discharged tomorrow morning and back to life as normal : )
