I have to say- Thank God again for our church! Our pastor did a magnificent sermon on heaven and hell along with a very moving "altar call". Thank God for the amount of young men who came forward to give their lives to Christ- we need more of you in our city!
And on to England.
At this point Michael has finally joined me! We visited St. James Cathedral where they were allowing an Occupy type protest on their grounds. That was interesting- especially since the person speaking was tying Jesus into his message.
From there we walked across the Thames to Borough Market- one of a couple outdoor markets we visited.
I had read about this chorizo sandwich that we just had to try. As you can see it was super delicious! The guy was actually rolling the sausage when we walked up- so fresh.
After visiting another market we went to Evensong at Westminster Abbey. Just a tip- it's free and you actually get to experience worship instead of crowds of tourists. Thanks to a good friend for suggesting that!
We hadn't experienced Fish and Chips yet so it was off to a nicer restaurant that I'd read had great fish.
Above is the fish- it was a huge as it looked. And so so good.
This is a salmon and smoked haddock fish cake. And that sauce was worth licking off the plate. Moms can rest assured I didn't do that : )
The next day my hubby whisked me off on the train to visit Windsor Castle.
It may not have been quite as romantic as that sounded- it's possible there were a couple trains missed and a lot of arguing before we were whisked away.
I was so thankful he wanted to do that because the tour of the castle was fun and it was nice to see a place outside of the city.
The Long Walk.
The Pasty we were told we had to have while in England- that's for you Dan!
We also hadn't experienced London's amazing Indian food yet.
So we were off to Brick Lane (another Dan recommendation) to try the food out.
It was actually really fun- guys stand outside of all the restaurants trying to get you to come in by offering you drinks and food for a set price.
We had no idea what to order so we just had the waiter pick for us and it was all wonderful.
If I ever go back I think we'll have to go back there for dinner a few different times- I was bummed we did it on the last night in England : (
This is the suckling pig from the oldest restaurant in the world (as recorded by the Guiness book of world records). Us being arrogant American tourists waltzed into the place on a Saturday night without a reservation. We knew we were really in trouble when another customer heard we didn't have reservations and told us "Good Luck!"(in the sweet way- not rude). Thankfully the hosts were very patient and just had us sit and wait to see if a table opened up, which it did a few minutes later.
As I'm sure you are aware we aren't actually arrogant American tourists- just stupid! We were thinking it would be more like the tapas restaurants where you just walk in whenever, not an actual nice sit down restaurant. After that lovely dinner we went one last time for churros and chocolate.
And that my friends concludes our eating in Europe! After that it was the long, long plane ride home.

Dan says "No fair!", but he's glad he could help with your dining experience.
That picture of the cathedral is lovely. I hope you have more to share. I love all of the food pictures. They make our mouths water!!!
Love, Mom and the Dad
I am thrilled that you got such a good overview of London and had time to go to Windsor. It's a delightful town and I wish I'd more time there. Your food pictures are crazy yummy! I'll have to tell you about the restaurant we went in and the opera singers. Love, Rosalee
