Activities

Well we did A LOT this weekend, so I think I will start with Thur/Sat and do Sunday tomorrow!

On Thursday Michael went with Tristan to his school Open House.  Apparently he is so L.A. he wears sunglasses inside.

On Saturday we went to Disneyland for Foster Family Appreciation!  Our agency paid for us to go - what could be better (for the kids anyway)?!  Unfortunately Michael had to go to a church meeting so he didn't meet up with us until 1pm.  I was on my own with two kids from 8am until then- yikes!

While we awaited dad's arrival we rode Buzz Lightyear twice and then flew on the Astro Orbitor (above).

We rode the carrousel and Pinnochio.  I then convinced Tristan to ride the double decker bus around Main Street and immediately after hop on the train around the whole park!  No line waiting involved in those two things : )

And then.... once daddy had arrived we went to Jedi Training Academy!
This is a big deal because you have to get picked out of the audience and Tristan managed to get himself picked-yay!

This is Michael's favorite photo.
The "Jedi's in training" were learning a light saber combination.  Every time they were told to "go to the head" Tristan would put the light saber on his head as opposed to hitting towards the imaginary other person!

This storm trooper did a dance for Tristan while he waited to duel with Darth Vader!

 The duel with Vader.
He told me today that Darth Vader wanted him to go to the dark side and he yelled, "No Darth Vader"!  That must have been while he was repeatedly smacking Darth Vader's light saber instead of doing the combo they were taught.
It's very humorous to me that someone who has never seen Star Wars can love it so much.

This is crazy, but Tristan is now big enough to ride all of the rides at Disneyland except Indiana Jones!  I'm positive he wouldn't enjoy Space Mountain quite yet!  That meant he did get to go on Star Tours- something he's been asking about FOREVER.  He though it was "way cool".

He drove a car in Autotopia.

And we learned the best view of the fireworks is from the parking garage.
We stayed so late that Tristan fell asleep sitting on the tram to the garage.
The little one doesn't think he needs sleep so he made it all the way to the freeway before falling asleep.
Sweet dreams ; )

What a great day!!! I agree with Michael - the light saber picture is wonderful. I love that Tristan could not understand that he was to go after someone else's head! Good kid. A pacifist is what Star Wars needs.

I just saw the Star Wars pix - what a great sequence! Don't know why I didn't see them the first of the week. In the one pict. Tristan looks like a little Luke from the second movie OR Oda (sp) with his hood up! Cute. Love, Rosalee
