Day 4: What They Wear
Day 5: Love to Hate
Oh the scratchy facial hair!
Finally a child who wants to color while I scrapbook!
I can't put his name on the blog so I've been debating what to call him. I'm going to go with the little one for now. So boring I know. So anyway things are still going fairly well. Tristan is definitely having trouble adapting. We keep telling everyone that Tristan is creating all the drama not the little one. And it's not just because of the addition, he has been having lots of problems following rules and listening lately anyway. So I like to say that the little one is actually a distraction for me from Tristan's drama!
Some issues have presented themselves with the little one - like when he is angry/frustrated he throws himself on the floor and bangs his head. Obviously in our family that isn't acceptable but we have to learn to comfort and try to work through it since he's in a new environment and most likely scared/confused. We got a ton of books during our training so I'm about to start in on one of those to help us understand how to deal with the frustration in the appropriate manner. It could obviously be months before we figure out if that's part of his personality or a reaction to being moved around constantly.
The big news in our house is that last night Tristan ate a cheeseburger. Yeah, I know, huge! The little one also has food issues, very similar to Tristan. He doesn't eat vegetables or most fruit. And he doesn't like mushy stuff, like applesauce or avocado. Ugh. And the worst thing is that even if he had yogurt the day before, you have to hold his face and force a bite in to make him realize he likes it before he will eat it again. Since Tristan NEVER eats veggies I finally got around to trying veggie smoothies. Worked like a charm people! I made a banana, plain yogurt, apple juice and carrot one and a strawberry, plain yogurt, milk and spinach one. I actually tried both and surprisingly they did just taste like the fruit. So Tristan drank the strawberry one right down, so now I'll get one serving of vegetables a day in him!
