A pastime many kids have enjoyed. Although Tristan didn't want them to fly away. He couldn't understand why they wouldn't stay because he wanted to talk to them.
An interesting find in the sand.
The sea glass we gathered. Apparently we need A LOT more to fill the jar.
We are so blessed to live in Southern California believe me we know. We get to enjoy one of God's amazing creations (the ocean) as often as we want! When we were there we saw a family that was seeing the ocean for the first time. I almost cried with them- they were so overjoyed!
Tristan's cold is almost gone. Another cold without a hospital visit- woo hoo! He still hasn't been back at school- so we are going on 4 full days of being around each other 24/7 with no daddy to help! Luckily we have survived. Tristan had a bit of a breakdown this afternoon, but other than that we have been great together! Thankfully we welcome dad back tomorrow night.
Part of the bedtime prayer Tristan said last night, "God thank you for this family and for me to get better so I can go to school and eat cheese crackers..." From tearing up to laughing in one second.
Also- I had to reject a placement for the first time last night. It was really, really hard. First off she called me at 8:30pm with children that needed to come that evening- yikes! But the problem was just that, children- two siblings. We definitely don't have the space for two or the mental capacity to handle that right now. When we were in one of our classes some people we met told us they had to turn down 5 kids before they got their placement. And I thought oh no, that won't happen. Now we haven't turned down 5 kids but we've been through 6 phone calls so far with no placement- this is definitely a trying process. I was sad to have to pass on those children but we will just keep waiting faithfully!
