The Happenings...

He finally found a way to sword fight- just raid the neighbors house!

And our neighbor boy was three when we moved here- can you believe it?  I used to think about Tristan being old enough to play with the neighbor kids- how did it already happen!

We finally found a good use for the "unique" present (aka storm trooper (?) helmet) that Grandma Joy brought for Tristan!
And I have to tell you that Tristan has turned into the most social kid.  Literally every time we go to the park he finds a kid around his age (maybe a little older) to play with.  He has no fears about going up to another child (boy or girl) and asking to play- I love it!  Even at school and CBS he already has close friends that he adores.  I don't think he had a lot of bonds at his old school, but at the new one he already has a "best friend" and a couple other new friends.  I mean the two boys talk about each other non stop and apparently they are the two big talkers in the class- no wonder they get along so well.  The other boys mom told me he said that he and Tristan get into "mischief" together- so cute! Of course he is a little bit of an overwhelming personality so sometimes kids are scared of him too!

How could I resist that face- it's the one he gave me when he just wanted to watch one more episode of Backyardagins!  He either gives me that smile or he comes up to me and says, "Mom you know what your best thing is?" (I know the sentence doesn't make sense- but it does to him!) And then he gives me a huge hug!  What a manipulator already!

Maybe you noticed in that picture- he has a large scab on his lip.  He did a face plant in the parking garage at EA on Wednesday- not good!

We visited his PT today and he is making big strides- yay!  It's interesting how children really respond to anyone but their parents encouraging them to do new things.  She got him to jump off a bench at the highest level w/o holding hands.  There is literally no way he would have done that for me at half the height with one hand.  He was so proud of himself and I was so excited for him!  When we came home he even jumped off the porch w/o holding my hands-  that was encouraging.  Our goal is to get him to stop thinking about jumping and climbing down stairs and just naturally doing it.  Mainly I'm paying a PT to give him confidence in his physical abilities- she tells me that every time!  It's something we just couldn't build in him here at home though and he loves visiting her and is responding well to his therapy.

Sorry to tell you that we have no update on the foster situation.  Our Foster Specialist seems to have disappeared.  Luckily we have an amazing Adoption Specialist and she is jumping in to try and figure out what is going on.  I will update you as we know something.  Right now the fingerprinting company is working with the state to try and get us approved- apparently that takes weeks : )  The good news is we probably get to go visit my mom and grandma in AZ so I am happy about that outcome!

Cute pics! I am glad that Tristan has inherited the social side of his mom and dad!

Libby did a face plant off the tyke bike and had a scar for ages and ages.

Thanks for the update.

Love, Mom and the Dad

Scars abound! I have the remains of a scar from falling off a scooter and sliding on the sidewalk when I was 6 or 7! We all can compare our scars sometime (surgeries don't count). Really cute pictures again - love the 'know what's best about you?'
Has he grown a lot? Seems like the kids have grown a lot this summer. Love, Rosalee
