December

Kai and T jumping on the bed

Decked out in video game gear

Well Christmas is almost here, yippee! We really haven't been doing anything exciting- in fact I'm sure Tristan is quite bored with holiday shopping and cookie baking. Brian and Libby did come up to visit us over the weekend, for the first time since about halfway through the pregnancy. That was fun! We went to a Christmas party on Saturday and it was great because for the first time ever Michael and I could both enjoy a party and not worry about Tristan. It was at Kent and Stacey's and Tristan, Jack, and Kai ran around the entire night playing with each other. We never had to interrupt except to demand no more cookie eating! Tristan did throw up in the car on the way home (for the millionth time) because he ate way too much food. A cute kid asking strangers for more bread, cheese, cookies, etc. works every time.

We also took Tristan to the light display at Griffith Park that we went to last year. He walked most of the way and had a lot of fun pointing out all the different lights to us. I didn't think it could happen but his talking is also picking up even more. His sentence structure is getting more complex and he's constantly saying things to Michael and I that make us laugh out loud! Last night Michael told him to put his own blankets back on and as Michael left the room he said, "that's a good idea"! Funny to us. He's also taken to ordering on his own at restaurants. At breakfast he made sure to tell the waiter he wanted water and with Grandma he ordered his own milk and bagel- apparently he thinks he's an adult now!

I'll probably jinx it by saying this, but I'm almost ready to call him potty trained! Yikes. He's been going to school in underwear and we haven't had an accident in a few days, so we'll see how Christmas goes. He's also actually telling us every time he has to go instead of us forcing him to go! I'm so hoping that we have made it.

It will so much fun to see you all! Tristan talking more!?! That will be fun, for sure. The wonder years of discovery.
