Tristan helped me put up the Nativity set- a story I mentioned on FB- he whacked off the sheeps ear in the process! Luckily I glued that back on and a shepherds hand he had broken last year. We visited Grandma Shadle in Arizona over the weekend. Tristan in this great stage right now where he gets very excited to visit people and he remembers all of our relatives. He talks about Aunt Rosalee and Val all the time- I'm sure he's looking forward to Christmas. So the whole way to AZ he talked about seeing Grandma Shadle. When we got there it only took a few minutes for him to warm up and give her a hug. He made it the whole weekend w/o any accidents with potty training so that was very exciting. Even while driving he waited until we stopped to go to the bathroom. He also got to see Abby and Eric which was fun, especially since Abby is pregnant like Aunt Libby was! His new phase is telling mom and dad to talk or go to another room when he wants to do something we don't want him to. He spent a lot of time doing that at Grandma Shadle's- she has so many fun switches to touch and drawers to open!
When we got back we picked up our Christmas tree. Last year Tristan could figure out opening presents but I'm not sure he understood Christmas. This year he's much more into it. He asks questions about everything we do and all the decorations he sees. He is soooo excited to have a Christmas tree with lights and even did a little decorating. He is like a pet though because he keeps wanting to crawl under the tree and take ornaments off the tree- driving me crazy! We looked at some great Christmas lights in AZ which he loved- so he's requested we do that again in L.A. I'm looking forward to WA- hoping for snow again, he will love it!
