Spring!

The sun has been here a few days, woohoo!
Most of the Wallingford residents care for their yards and there are flowers blooming all over.
I have a few coming up in my yard that I've been cutting for the house.
The neighbor that sits behind us has a bunch of trees/bushes that border our fence.
They don't really care for their yard and the epic amounts of flowers, leaves, berries that die and fall off the trees into my yard drive me crazy!
BUT, this week I decided to take advantage of the overhanging branches and clip some pink flowers and bunches of lilacs to put in vases.

I was really excited yesterday to spot a flower on one of the strawberry plants.
Tristan and I have been dreaming of all the strawberries since we moved in.
 The rhubarb is taking over.
I've already sent desserts to work and cut a bunch up to freeze for when the strawberries are ready.
And I guess you can't pick all of it off the plants so I just have to let it sit and look crazy!
One lonely artichoke starting to show.
The artichoke plant takes up a lot of space in an area where I'd like to put tomatoes and peppers so it might have to go.
 Peas.
Tristan has decided he likes them raw so that's exciting!
Hopefully he'll enjoy picking and eating these when they're ready.
I threw wildflower seeds that are supposed to cover hundreds of square feet onto like 2 square feet.
That should be colorful!

I miss Spokane lilacs - lilacs do better in a drier climate, but the few I've seen this year are really pretty. How big a yard do you have anyway!?! Tristan, raw peas are really good. rosalee
