Moving

Michael and I have survived him not graduating college, moving around the country, being jobless, and having a NICU baby.  Apparently moving next door is the one thing that can break our marriage!  To say this move has been stressful is an understatement.  We operate very differently when it comes to things around the house and this has just magnified it.  Luckily today we finished moving everything from the old apartment and are now ready to unpack the new one!

Magic Eraser before and after!

The little odds and ends around the old apartment...it seemed like a never ending pile of stuff.  One part of our moving issues (mostly my fault)!

What our new apartment currently looks like!

The two above photos are what I am living with every day- on top of working, ferrying Tristan around, foster stuff, etc.  ( i know I'm whining!)  Anyway so each day Michael heads off to work (which I know includes work) but it also includes business lunches.  So Thursday he heads to a restaurant I've been wanting to go to (on my recommendation).  There I am scrubbing the kitchen floor and I get a text from him- "Hey Krista, I'm here at lunch at Akasha with Pierce Brosnan!" Blech.  They may have been at different tables, but it exhibits my frustration perfectly!  This week he also has a business trip to Louisiana today thru Friday.  Another thing I consider more fun that unpacking!  But I wouldn't be quite as annoyed if he didn't come home from work and say, "Hey guess what- we're going to the NFL kickoff and I'm going to see Taylor Swift perform." Blech.

Tristan helping our maintenance guy work on the door!  Our new neighbors and maintenance guy are so sweet.  Literally every single one of them has introduced themselves to us and Tristan.  He's really loving all the attention and conversing with everyone around.

ohmygosh! Krista, you have more good reasons to whine than anyone I know at this time. Bless your heart. As my mom would say, "What a good girl you are."

I'm with Joy on this comment. How stressful can it get?! Sounds like the time I called Joy from New York to talk about what a great time I was having at a business convention, including going on the Staten Island Ferry in my shirtsleeves. For some reason I got a pretty frosty response, since Joy was dealing with children, transportation, and a foot of snow.

Your neighbors sound great!

I think if Michael had told me he was having lunch anywhere in the vicinity of Pierce Brosnan without me, I'd whine to! Then make him take me out to a very nice and expensive restaurant! Whine away, my dear! It helps for the moment, at least! And, you ARE a good girl!
Love,
Rosalee

In my defense, I flew all night and had a sleep killing 3 hour layover in Houston. Still not a bad as living in the mess, though...
