Food

I can't make sense out of Tristan's eating habits. Yesterday he's helping me make Jambalaya and I offer him a red pepper, he chews on it for a minute then puts it down. Next up a piece of celery, no way, a piece of chicken apple sausage, no way. I peel a garlic clove and he picks up the whole thing and chews it in his mouth. Eventually he stopped because it was "spicy"! No kidding, a raw garlic clove. Today I was going to cook some cranberries and Tristan insisted upon eating some raw cranberries- extremely sour and not tasty. He of course chewed up a whole one and then spit it out. And a couple weeks ago I asked him if he preferred blue cheese or grapes for a snack and he picked blue cheese! This from a kid who won't eat chicken, beef, carrots, tomatoes, etc. So silly.

I keep forgetting to update on the potty training. It's going great! After a small regression of a lot of cleaning up pee on the floor- I decided to go with all or nothing. So he went to wearing pants/underwear and never a diaper unless it's night time. And somehow that has worked really well. He has never had an accident in public. He always asks to go to the bathroom when out of the house. At home he still has one accident every couple days, but it's even been a few days since one of those. We are still working on what to do when he's with other people. I put him in a pull up when he goes to school/nursery and on Thursday he did use the toilet at school. He's just not real into asking people other than Michael and I to go to the bathroom. So I'd say we are at about 85% trained and I hoping for 100% by Christmas!

Sounds like a Californian eating choices; Great Grandpa would prefer he would eat some beef, I'm sure. We'll see how he does with the sweet potatoes!

As for the other, all or nothing worked like a charm at my house!

I love the food choices! Tristan has no idea how lucky he is to be able to sample such variety!!! Very funny. Good luck at Thanksgiving.
